Cat among the Dogs
One gloomy Sunday I was born into blackness, crawling in circles on my knees
No-one to nurse me, no-one to cling to
Left to nothing, I ran and fell
The future held no place for me
I saw a door, but I had not key
My dreams are my one good company
I'm trying hard to set them free
I'm a cat among the dogs
Deep in the forest I can hear them bark
I'd sharpen my claws to escape from the dark if there was a lightening spark
One gloomy black Monday I got lost in a tempest, struggling for survival in the rain
No-one to see me, no-one to save me
Left in oblivion, I ran and screamed
My dreams are my final hiding-place, down in the cellar of grey
I'm a cat among the dogs...
My dreams are my one good company
